Psalm 51

Psalm 51 gives us one of the most honest and complete pictures of confession in all of Scripture. Written by King David after a devastating moral failure, it walks through three movements: an upward appeal to God's character, an internal request for deep renewal, and an outward call to mission. True confession is not a transaction where God clears a record. It is a relational restoration, a child coming back home to a Father who has been waiting. The world offers exposure and exile. The gospel offers exposure, forgiveness, restoration, and purpose.
