Biblical hospitality goes beyond entertaining friends - it means welcoming strangers and those who are different from us. When Jesus called Matthew the tax collector, He immediately shared a meal with him, demonstrating that the dinner table represents acceptance, relationship, and belonging. While the Pharisees criticized Jesus for eating with sinners, He responded that He came to call sinners, not the righteous. True hospitality creates safe spaces where people can encounter God's love through genuine conversation and relationship. We can practice this by inviting neighbors, coworkers, or others into our homes, focusing on people rather than perfect meals. Hospitality transforms communities by breaking down walls and showing that everyone belongs at God's table.
